Achieving the optimum results for an athlete involves the analysis, planning, design, implementation, monitoring and refinement of a longer term plan. This is as distinct from a casual day to day approach. The strategy can be broken into the following key areas:
The initial phase is to identify the abilities and goals of the athlete and to analyse how best to design an overall program to achieve the best possible outcome.
Using a phased approach and whilst carefully considering each athlete’s abilities and motivations, to design the overall program at a macro level.
The program implementation is delivered in cycles, which comprise a set number of weeks. Each cycle has a specific overall goal, such as preparation, strength, speed etc. Intensity and recovery are factored in across the cycle. This is then implemented at a micro level by planning and delivering individual training sessions and at a macro level by analyzing specific session outcomes as they relate to the cycle and plan as a whole.
The overall program is constantly refined throughout the season based on the results achieved within the program implementation. This considers all factors including specific issues such as injury management and rehabilitation.
The first step is an initial consultation session, where we evaluate current strengths and weaknesses and decide on the best approach. This may be a block of individual tailored sessions, or, to become part of a training group with athletes of similar ability. Rates are very affordable. Sessions are either priced individually or, in a structured block package which not only saves money, but assists in the commitment required to meet your goals.
